Schematic Design Phase

A basic understanding of the project constraints and opportunities and desired outcome is explored through discussion and drawings. A scope of services with a time frame for the phases is developed

• observe and analyze and site phenomena, establish goals and criteria

• conceptualize project direction and possible solutions; explore and envision ideas

• collaborate with clients; interpret and overlay central themes into form and materials

• compare and test alternatives

• synthesize alternatives into a preferred scheme

• obtain preliminary pricing from a general contractor
